How do I change my Frontier password in my Speedstream 6520 modem, Siemens SE567, Westell 7500, or Netgear 7550 modem?
Below are instructions for changing your password in the following DSL DSL
DSL is a form of telephone technology that carries data at high speeds over standard copper telephone wires. With DSL data can be delivered about 30 times faster than through a 56bps modem which uses traditional telephone technology. Also DSL users can receive voice and data simultaneously so you can leave your computer plugged into the Internet without interrupting phone connections. xDSL is the collective term for variations of DSL such as ADSL and HDSL. To change your password in the SS6520 modem, you will need to do the following:
- Open your web browser and type http://192.168.254.254 into your address bar.
- Click the blue 'Go' button on the top left hand side of the screen.
- You will now be asked to enter a username and password. The username should already be populated as admin. The password should also be admin or wirelessdsl.
- Once you have logged in, you should see 6 icons on the left hand side of the page. Select ISP Connection.
- In the middle of the page, you should see 'PPPoA(0) 0/35.' Click directly on the PPPoA portion.
- You should now see a screen that shows your Frontier email address as a username and a password. Change the password here to the one you just created. Then, click Save Settings.
- Now, click the Reboot icon on the left hand side of the screen. Click Reboot at the bottom. You will now see a countdown from 45 seconds indicating that your modem is rebooting. Once this has completed, the password will be changed.
To change your password in the SE567 modem, you will need to do the following:
- Open your web browser and type http://192.168.254.254 into your address bar.
- Click the blue 'Go' button on the top left hand side of the screen.
- You will now be asked to enter a username and password. The username should already be populated as admin. The password should also be admin or wirelessdsl.

- You will be asked to enter a username and password. The username will be admin and the password will be admin or password.
- Click Connected next to Internet Stats on the left hand side of the screen. It will be in green.
- Click the Edit icon to the right of My Connection.
- You will now see a page that contains your Frontier email address listed as the Account ID and your password as the Account Password. Change the password here to the one your just created. Then, click Apply. That's It! The password has been changed.
To change your password in the Netgear 7550 modem, you will need to do the following:
- Open your web browser and type http://192.168.254.254 into your address bar.
- You will be asked to enter a username and password. The username will be admin and the password will be admin or password.
- Click Connected next to Internet Stats on the left hand side of the screen. It will be in green.
- Click the Edit icon to the right of My Connection.
- You will now see a page that contains your Frontier email address listed as the Account ID and your password as the Account Password. Change the password here to the one your just created. Then, click Apply. That's It! The password has been changed.
