Power Cycle Your Equipment

Note: If you have an older High Speed Internet modem with a Reset button, do not press it to power cycle your modem. Pressing the Reset button will erase the configuration of the High Speed Internet modem. Please follow the steps outlined below to properly power cycle your High Speed Internet modem.

To power cycle your equipment (PC, High Speed Internet modem, and any network hardware that may be connected in between):
  1. Turn your computer off.

  2. Turn the power off to any routers or other network equipment that may be running between the High Speed Internet modem and your PC.

  3. Turn the power off to the High Speed Internet modem. This can be done by either pulling the power cord or turning off the power switch.

  4. Wait at least 1 minute.

  5. Turn the power to the High Speed Internet modem back on. The modem will take about 60 seconds to cycle up, and you should see a solid power and DSL light on the modem.

  6. Turn your computer (and any other hardware involved in your High Speed Internet connection) on.
