Mozilla v 1.7.x

The screenshots below represent Netscape Mail (v 6.x or 7.x), but they are the same for Mozilla Mail v 1.7.x.

Step 1:

To update your Mozilla Mail v 1.7.x's SMTP authentication setting, open Mozilla, click Edit and select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings from the menu that appears.

Step 2:

In the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window, select Server Settings.

Note: If you receive e-mail from a provider other than Global Valley, your account name *may* differ from what appears in the image below.

Step 3:

On the Server Settings window, if your server name is set to pop3.gvni.com, make sure that your complete Global Valley e-mail address is present in the User Name field.

On the Server Settings window, if your server name is set to something other than pop3.gvni.com, do not make any changes to your server settings.

Select Outgoing Server (SMTP).

Step 4:

If your outgoing mail server name is set to smtp.gvni.com, select the box to the left of Use name and password. Enter your complete Global Valley e-mail address in the User Name field.

Click OK to save your changes. That's it! SMTP authentication has been enabled.

If your outgoing mail server name is set to something other than smtp.gvni.com, no changes need to be made at this time.
